Victory at Sea

Series Summary

The success of the 1952-53 series Victory at Sea proved to the television networks that there was a large audience for documentaries. Created by historian Henry Salomon, Victory at Sea tells the story of how the US Navy achieved victory during World War II. Salomon and his crew sifted through 60 million feet of film to create this landmark series. Legendary composer Richard Rodgers provided the rousing music to accompany Salomon's riveting footage.
