Series Summary

Created by Life in Hell cartoonist Matt Groening, The Simpsons is the longest running show in television history. This sharp-edged satire of the American family remains an enormous influence on pop culture, and the cartoon is often the last word and wisecrack on current issues. Homer is a grossly incompetent but warm-hearted nuclear technician struggling to keep his dysfunctional family together. His wife Marge always sticks by him, though Homer is often the cause of the show's many calamities.
