Seinfeld

Series Summary

It was a show about nothing, and it made sitcom history. With its rock solid cast and razor sharp writing, Seinfeld perfectly captured the ironic sensibility of the freewheeling 1990s. Professional comedian Jerry and his buddies - catastrophe-prone Elaine, neurotic slob George, and oddball Kramer - kvetch and wisecrack their way through the absurd universe that is New York City. Head writer Larry David insisted that the characters never learn any moral lessons with the mantra No hugging. No learning.

Premiered on: July 5, 1989
