Series Summary

The storyline follows unhappy housewife Mary Hartman, her slightly unfaithful husband Tom, her forgetful and somewhat daffy mother Martha Shumway who tended to talk more to her plants, and Mary’s best friend and next-door neighbor, aspiring country singer Loretta Haggers, and Loretta's much older husband Charlie ("Baby Boy") Haggers. The series is a satirical take on daytime soap operas.
