I Dream of Jeannie

Series Summary

Inspired by the film The Brass Bottle and wanting a fantasy show to compete with Bewitched, producer Sidney Sheldon created I Dream of Jeannie. Barbara Eden (who co-starred in The Brass Bottle) plays a gorgeous genie who is let out of her bottle by astronaut Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman). Completed devoted to her master (even though he freed her), Jeannie keeps giving wishes to a reluctant Tony, usually to calamitous and comical results.
