The Golden Girls

Series Summary

The series revolves around four older women sharing a home in Miami, Florida. The owner of the home is a widow named Blanche Devereaux, who was joined by fellow widow Rose Nylund and divorcée Dorothy Zbornak. They both responded to a room-for-rent ad on the bulletin board of a local grocery store. The three were soon joined by Dorothy's mother, Sophia Petrillo after her Shady Pines retirement home burned down. Episodes would typically involve one or more of the women in some sort of conflict or problem. At some point, they would gather around the kitchen table and discuss the problem with one of the other girls telling a story from her own life such as Rose regaling in a nonsense story that had nothing to do with the situation or Sophia telling an outrageous made-up story.
